  • Batch render question

I have a quick question to all my Maya Vray gur?s. I am trying to batch render an animation but the batch render looks different than what is shown on the VFB Window. Let me explain, I used the VFB Controls to do a quick color correction and bloom effect on a single frame of the animation. I ended up liking what I did on that frame and now I want to apply it to the rest of the animation.

My question is how can I batch render the animation with the Color Correction and Bloom effect already baked into my render. I am looking to render out a jpg sequence or PNG as no additional post processing is needed.

Appreciate the help and addidassison this guys. Thank you in advance.

Unfortunately, you can't save the lens effects when rendering with batch because they can only be applied to the output through the VFB. In this case your best option will be to use .vrscene and VrayStandalone. This way you can utilize the VFB and save all lens effects and color corrections, that are made there, to the output.

      Zdravko,

Thank you for the reply. I honestly have never used this process before but I will give it a shot. Forgive the simple question but is there any documentation you can share on this process. Like I mentioned before, I have a nice setup with the color correction and bloom and I would just like to render an animation sequence of 130 frames as either png's or jpegs.

Lens flares, color correction and other effects like this are almost always done in post anyway, in the professional world. So you would be better off developing your final look with that in mind, using effects in a comp program like Nuke or After Effects rather than using Vray's built-in effects.

          SonyBoy,

Figured that man. Well it looks like I will render the batch sequence then post on Nuke. Thanks man.

Generally, it best if you could do all post processing in dedicated software after rendering. But still, in case you want to stick with the VFB color corrections and lens effects and render through VRayStandalone you can check this:
