    Hi,

    I guess i dont understand how ansiotrophy works but i made a simple scene, sphere, hdri dome light and set the ansio setting to -0.95, rotation 0, as in the documentation and get this result..which to me seems wrong. This is in vray 3.6 and next, so i guess its me thats wrong. But can anyone clarify as i just cant seem to get nice results when trying to get brushed metal and go around in circles a bit. Feels like im at square one every time i try.

    ive attached a video and project file, something going nasty when there is reflection glossiness and the ansio hits the -0.95 mark.

      I'm not getting this result. 3.60 CPU but it does happen in Cuda. no UV cords plugged in.

        i still get it with cpu and with a place2dtexture node assigned to the uv

            It doesn't happen on CPU for me in Next Beta 3. It only happens on GPU
            This is definitely a bug, but why are you using ward?
            GGX is way faster and you can get the exact same result with it. Use GGX tail falloff of 1.1 to 1.4 or so
            At some point Chaos Group will drop Ward and blin I think.
            Do you have a reference that you are trying to match?

              I always struggle with close ups with brushed metal. I get most of the way but never happy with it

                GGX tail falloff is very powerful for metals!
                You can add a worm tint to reflection color, then use Vray dirt to add these scratches in the reference photo

                  I thought you were trying to do something more complex, in fact this is really easy to do as mentioned by Muhammed using the new GGX or the Ward.
                  Here's my lame example with brushed metal map into Spec only.

                    yeah thanks for the replies, and the scene much appreciated..I think i just keep tweaking and tweaking. Yeah i feel a little embarrassed at it not being complex, but i think i just find myself chasing my own tail at times, always expecting my efforts to look better.
