  • Denoise tool doesn't seem to take normals into consideration

    Hi,

I'm testing out the denoise tool on an exr image sequences and for most parts it works superb! However it does remove all intentional noise in my shaders. This is for really fine surface type noise added in the bump map (both procedural and bitmap).
When looking at the world normal map I can clearly see the bump detail in there so it's definetley in the World Normals render element.
When using the graphical user interface for the denoise tool all elements, except world normals, are available to check for use when denoising.
Not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if its even supposed to be selectable in the gui för the denoise tool.

    Any tips would be appreciated!

It might blur some detail, depending on the case. It's hard to tell anything without an image. Can you post an example?
The 'denoise' checkbox on each channel is there if you want to denoise the specific channel as well, not just the beauty - in case you need to composite back with denoised render elements.
