  • GPU rendering - noisy shadows on matte shadow layer

Trying to render a shadow layer using MTL wrapper. With GPU rendering, shadows are very noisy, no matter what settings are changed. Noise Threshold set to .0001 makes no difference. CPU bucket rendering is fine, but takes much longer.

What is the exact version of V-Ray that you are using?

It appears that this was a known issue and it is already fixed in V-Ray Next. Unfortunately, there is no workaround for V-Ray 3.60.04.

Wow. This is very disappointing. I had just purchased an additional render node for 3.6.04, and now it's useless for such a basic, regular layer rendering procedure.
