I was having a bit of an issue with Vray 3.6 with the 3D BerconNoiseTex, and it seems to have unfortunately carried on into Vray Next (Update 1) for Maya 2018. When tweaking the scale and the Low & High attributes, the texture does not update in the frame buffer, making it fairly slow to tweak. Its a texture node that in practice needs a lot of tweaking to get right, so it'd be great if it could be fixed.
