  • Matte object reflection

    Hi guys,

I have a scene that I'm using vraymtlwrapper with reflection enable on a matte object. I can see the reflection alpha but I can't see the reflection in the rgb pass. Anyone know why? Thanks.

The reflection is visible in the RGB as well but probably your background is black therefore is difficult to spot. Try using a grey background instead and you should be able to see the reflection.

This is happening to me as well. The grey background approach is definitely not the answer. No RGB values get revealed by making the background grey and I have done this setup countless times. I would always get the colors of the reflected object in the RGB and a corresponding alpha of the reflection. The attached image is what previous versions produced. Also, the 3ds Max version does not have this issue. As this is actually a show stopper on a project we are working on, can this be fixed in one of the nightly builds ?
