  • V-Ray User Color with Mash & Vray Clipper

    Hi guys,

I'm using the Color node in a MASH network which is plugged in to the diffuse slot of a VrayMTL using the VrayUserColor (works fine so far), this material is applied to a MASH ReproMesh that is being clipped by a VrayClipper mesh.

I've got "Use Object Material" switched on, which worked fine when using a standard colour, but then when I plug in the VrayUserColor the clipped mesh defaults back to using the standard/lambert1 shader.

Wondering if this is a little bug?

Using VrayNext 4.12.01, Maya 2018, CPU Rendering.

I have tried the setup that you have described, but I couldn't manage to reproduce your issue. Could you send us your scene so we could take a look?

I tried the scene that you sent, and the clipped mesh still seems to use the set colour from the Mash Color node, and not the random hue/sat/value...

I've just tweaked the randomness a little here, and checked on "Use Object Material" for the clipper.
