Maya 2018 Vray 3.6
I created a scene lit by a dome light with an intensity of 1. I created a sphere with a vray material applied. If I set my diffuse to white and reflection to white with an ior of 1.6, I get a grazing angle reflectivity of around 1.3 in areas. If I turn off glossy fresnel, my grazing angle reflectivity stays around 1.
If my understanding is right, since my environment is set to 1, my material should never be able to exceed a pixel value greater than 1, is this correct? Is there a bug with glossy fresnel, or is my understanding incorrect? I have attached a zip with two .exrs that demonstrate what I am seeing. Thank you for any guidance you can provide.
