  • Render Issue - Meshing shows up on MayaBatch render - Vray Next for Maya

    Hello.

I have an render issue that shows up during the MayaBatch render but not in the IPR window in Maya as it appears quite normal. I have meshing polys that appear on the surface that are not in the IPR frame buffer. This is network rendered but none of my links are missing for textures etc.

    Thanks
    Greg

I had hard time understanding your explanation, but try set raybias to 0.01 and see if that helps if not, you would have to post an example scene.

      Hi Dmitry,

When I run this again on the network render using Deadline I will check for any texture errors on any render node or perhaps I can check the records for the last job, but I don't see any in the file itself using the file path editor in Maya. This doesn't seem to be a V-Ray issue I think. This doesn't occur when I just render locally.

      Thanks

Nice render Yeah it looks to be a missing bump map or whatever on the eye. Is there any message in the log about the texture not being loaded? if you set your log to print all messages it should show you if its missing any texture. I also suggest using File Texture Manage (a free script) that's much better then file path editor garbage that ships with maya.

Thanks Dmitry. I don't see anything out of the ordinary other that "STDOUT: Warning: File texture "norm" used as normal map has a color correction enabled. This may lead to unexpected results." But I've encountered this warning before without incident on other projects in the past. Render log is attached.

          Thanks,
          Greg

yeah this might be it, the normal map should not have any color correction (should be set to raw).

That seems to been the problem. I had a texture that was accidentally using a png instead of exr for the normal map. Thanks
