  • GPU render issue - On the latest nightly

Hello, I was doing a render test and noticed a issue with the frames I have going. Looks like some of the frames are rendering "dark" as if I were using distributed rendering with multiple machines, which I am not. I am using the Cuda setting. There is no GI so that wouldnt be the issue in this scene. Could I get some help on this one please?

You can see the problem buckets in the bottom right corner.

    Thanks people

here is a link of the test:

Best you send the scene to support@chaosgroup.com so we can take a look. Mention this thread in the e-mail as well.

Thanks Aleksandar. I've sent the file in and hope to hear what the issue may be. I will continue to trouble shoot it on my own while I wait to hear back from you guys.

Thank you for the provided files. The issue seems to be caused by the combination of bucket hybrid rendering, refraction and camera depth of field. I've logged the case (Bug-tracker id: VGPU-4378 ) for our developers to investigate. Until the issue is resolved, as a workaround, disable the hybrid rendering.

hermit.crab Thank you for the update. I will adjust the settings and give it a go. One other thing I notice with this scene was that the cpu and gpu rendered different with the dome light and hdr that was attached to it. Did you guys happen to test that as well? I mentioned that in my email to support.

Again thanks for looking into this.
          cheers

We are investigating it, the issue seems to be related more to the combination of refraction depth, dispersion, the usage of metalness and some other nodes rather than the dome light. We'll keep you posted.
