  • // Error: line 1: V-Ray : [VUtils::ContextImpl::init] OptiX failed to initialize. Error code : 7801 //

    I have gotten this issue twice. Quit the scene and reopened the file and same problem. I am running the latest nightly build testing it in Maya 2019.2.

    Cheers.

    Is this on Windows or Linux?
    what's your video driver version?
    Are you rendering on the cou or GPU?
    Do you have the Nvidia ai denoiser enabled?
    When you say latest nightly, can you get us the build number and version (printed on the top of the Maya output window)?

            Can you update your video driver and try again?
            431.70 is a bit outdated and with V-Ray Next, Update 2 we recommend using 441.20 or later for the NVIDIA denoiser and for CUDA rendering.
            For RTX rendering we recommend 441.28 or later.

            Let me know if the driver update fixes this.
