  • Baking Mash Proxy

Hi, I have a mash network instancing vray proxies. I'm having to use the mash bake instancer tool, as mash is flakey as hell and screwing up my scene. However when i bake, it bakes both the proxyShape and proxyPreview object, so duplicated the meshes ontop of eachother.

This seems to happen in V3.6 and Next.

Also, if anyone has experience with baking mash instances? I have grass of around 10000 instances, and it looks like its baking 1 every couple of seconds, which is surely ridiculous, cant be right surely?

Try disabling the 'Visibility' in the VRayMeshPreview of the VRayProxy prior to baking the animation - this would eliminate the duplicating effect.

Thanks for the reply much appreciated. I dont suppose you have any idea if its normal for Mash to be so slow when baking instances? I've not really had to do it before but seeing as im using it for grass where theres a lot of proxies, its basically too slow to be an option.

do you mean the primary visibility on the preview node, because that didnt fix it

I meant the 'Visibility' checkbox of the VRayMeshPreview node, under the 'Object Display' rollout. After baking all VRayMeshPreview nodes should be hidden, hence removing the doubling effect. Make sure you hide the MASH Instancer after baking since it is active.
