I continue to get caught out by this weirdness with the render region even after years of using Vray. If you have render region enabled at say full resolution, then set test resolution to something lower, the render region area (the red rectangle) sometimes gets squashed to the edge of the frame. If you then hit render without realizing you have render region enabled, you get a black frame. It's a small annoyance, and obviously down to user stupidity, but it would be great to get this fixed.

Annoying render region gotcha

Actually I believe the problem occurs when *opening* a scene that has had region rendering turned on at a test resolution, then turning test resolution off. This results in the region red box being flattened right up against the edge of the frame with zero pixels inside it. You can see it, but it's not obvious and very easy to miss it, start hitting render and wondering why you're getting a black frame. Unable to provide exact steps but I'm sure I can't be the only person to have experienced this.

I can confirm that behavior as SonyBoy describes too.Dmitry Vinnik
