  • Matte Shadow Errors

    Hi,

Currently have a setup where I'm using render setup for a simple foreground/background setup. I'm using VObjectProperties to control the matte state of all the objects when are nested in the respected groups (Foreground/Background). When rendering the foreground and having the background set to the usual: Matte enabled, alpha -1.0, Shadows and affect alpha enabled. The shadow has these strange 'blocks' the kinda look like buckets, this is just being rendered locally on one machine so DR involved.

Render settings are: max subdivs 24, noisethreshold 0.02, BF/LC - LC subdivs 2000, retrace at 6.

    The two videos bellow show:

The background render layer, no visible light flicker or errors

The foreground render layer alpha channel, lots of flickers and 'blocks'

    We are using:
    MacOS 10.14.6
    Maya 2019.2
    Vray 4.12.01

    Cheers,
    Danny

Thank you for sending us the scene. The issue is fixed in the latest V-Ray for Maya release. Please try it out and let us know if it still there?
