  • Some nodes do not work in command line render. Do work in viewport render

Some nodes we do use in our 3D models do render in the viewport. But as soon as we render them on the render farm with a command line render the render stops rendering after a few second. After deleting the nodes they render perfect.
For example the maya color correction node and the maya rgb to luminance node.

Does anybody know why they do not render in commend line?

Not enough information. What type of nodes?

      Sorry, all material nodes.
For example the Maya color correction node and the Maya RGB to luminance node.

Both nodes seem to be working fine on a simple scene in both the command line renderer through cmd and through Maya batch. Maybe there is something the matter with your Maya (given the fact that these are Maya nodes), try a clean reinstall.

Can you post some logs, it might help shed more light on this.
Also is there a chance that the V-Ray versions are not the same on your workstations compared to the farm nodes?

Okay, it took some time. We did some more testing and found out the following:

We have 2 different machines in our studio:
            1. dual intel machines with Geforce 1080 ti on windows 7
            2. AMD Ritzen with Geforce 2080 ti on windows 10
Maya and Vray version is on both systems the same.

We made a simple test scene. On the first machines they render okay. Also with the nodes i was talking about.
On the second machines the render exits after 15 seconds and does not output an image. This is when using the nodes. When we take the nodes the render perfectly again.
When we replace the nodes with Vray alternatives they render perfectly again.
Rendering in Maya software with the same nodes does work. So it seems a combination of the video card, Vray and the nodes.

In the log we get the following error message:

OpenCL evaluator is attempting to initialize OpenCL.
// Maya exited with status 255

I updated the video driver to the latest studio driver. Still no success.

            Anyone any idea? Tnx

Is this when rendering on the CPU or the GPU?
Can you post the vray log? It should be in the user's temp folder.

This is with rendering on the CPU.

Find attached the link to the log files.

The download won't work for some reason. Can you upload the .zip with the log directly to the thread? Or send it to alexander.yolov@chaosgroup.com.

Hmm, this log has not captured any rendering. Can you contact our support and see if they can help and if needed they can do a remote session with you.
