  • Volume Grid issues - Volumtric mode and Light Selects??

Hi, using VRay Next for Maya, update 1.1

Currently working on a scene with a Volume Grid loaded with a .vbd of a smoke simulation from Houdini. Smoke sims are rendered seperately for comp.

I can't seem to get the light selects to show up in render. Sims are set to 'volumetric' on Rendering Mode. Searching a few threads from a while back it seems I can get render elements to work if I switch to 'Volumetric Geometry' mode and increase Max Transparency to match the look ...however it sill does not support light selects (black in VFB)

Another tip suggested was to disable the 'Use Light Cache' option which works but causes unacceptable render time spikes (We have around 20 shots using smoke sims so this is not feasible)

According to https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...ements+Support voluemtric mode and light slelects should be supported? Unless im reading it wrong.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks

This should be fixed in the latest V-Ray for Maya version. Download the latest update and try again.
