I am not sure why, but my renders are really quick, and the denoiser processes really quick, but at the end of the denoiser process the render hangs for about a minute for no reason, and then releases like normal. Has anyone else encountered this?
I am not rendering to a file, but manually saving frames after render is completed because it's a layered print res thing. Potential issues may be the output size... 8000x8000? This is making the output exr quite large... but if it is not automatically saving the file, that shouldn't hang at 100% I don't think. I have 256GB ram and a Quadro RTX 5000 and Quadro RTX 4000 so it's not a capacity issue. Has anyone run into this before? Even if I render with denoise on a small region, it still hangs the full minute afterward.
Note: It doesn't do this in Max. I am on Maya 2020 VRay Next 2.1 v4.30.01
Would this be seen as normal for a larger file even if a small region is being rendered? Does the many render elements make it take a bit to compile the result or something?
It's odd so i figured I'd ask if anyone has run into this?! Insights greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
