  • Vrscene and opensubdiv UV issue

    Hi,

Im trying to match a look from Maya to vrscene but Im getting distorted UVs when rendering with vray standalone.
What works in Maya is setting the UV Boundary Smoothing to Preserve Edges and Corners

But when applying vray opensubdiv attribute to the mesh I only get these vray options:

Are these two dropdowns the same settings or is the Preserve Edges and Corners missing from the Vray setting?
I'have tried every combination in the vrscene switching properties manually but UVs are still distorted.

    Here some examples:
This is what I want to achive in vray, this is from Maya viewport with the Preserve Edges and Corners setting

This is what I get now, I exported to vrscene with the settings on the right, the render is from vray standalone frame buffer.

This is also from Maya viewport but with Preserve Edges setting, there is some similar distortion

I know that the distortion happens because the model does not have enough support edges but I want to know if there is a way to replicate the UV setting from maya where everything looks correct.
Here is a link from the geometry

The distort seems to happen without V-Ray as well after smoothing the mesh. It seems to be a geometry related issue, I guess you would have to add those support edges.
