  • Can't precalculate Light Cache Fly-through using Hash Map

Hi, I'm having a problem saving a precalculated fly-through light cache - it's coming up as 0 samples, empty file. Tested with a few variables (consistent lighting on/off, adaptive lighting vs. full evaluation) and it's still a problem. Notably, the problem doesn't happen when I use the KD Tree light cache type, so I think it's an issue with Hash Map.

Isn't the whole purpose of the hash map lc that you don't need to precalc a cache?

Render times and quality tests on my scene would suggest otherwise. It seems it's faster and equivalent quality to precalculate light cache for a fly through using the KD tree than rely on the hash map.
