  • Bokeh black Buckets

Hi, I made some simple Physical Camera Tests, with a few lights.

The Problem is that if I render it in Bucket Mode it doesn't render all Buckets. Not in RTX, CUDA or CPU.
    It works in Progressive Mode

    I use:
Maya 2019.3.1, Vray for Maya (v4.30.03 from May 22 2020)

Nvidia Studio Driver 442.92 and 2x 2080TI with NVLink

I did a lot shots with DOF and RTX but never faced this Problem.
I'll send the Scene to the Support E-Mail.

    Cheers
    Tobias

This is due to sampling since the lights are very small and very far away, leading to buckets, where samples miss the DOF effect and render black. Either increase the Min subdivs to resolve the issue or the radius of the lights.

You would have to increase min subdivs a lot too, depending on how small in my scenes I have to go up as high as 12, some times 24!
