Ok so, firstly I'm not the most eloquent writer, but the point of this isn't really to rant, but to point out that there are signs are there that your testing for Maya isn't what it should be.
There are certain standard Maya nodes, the remaps, the color corrects, the file inverts, all of which should work out of the box, but yet again after finding another issue, with the minimal level of testing on my end I can see issues that were logged in v3.6 are still a problem. I don't expect 100% perfect testing, but Ive seen this before in previous workplaces and these issues are an indication that the basic workflows are not adequately tested. These are not complicated node graphs that are causing issue, but basic.
Consequently, and because a lot of the time, material changes are quite subtle, its made me no longer feel confident that vray is working correctly, that I can safely use the default Maya nodes. For example, yet again there's an issue with the remaps, which is what i use all the time to reduce texture overhead etc, and now im having to switch to the remapHSV node because of issues that arose in V3.6...its confusing and it breeds a lack of confidence, which really isn't good.
The main reason I went with Vray was because of the support and I have to say that since you started supporting all software under the sun, I cant help feel that you have spread yourselves too thinly, either way I'm getting increasingly frustrated with these basic features not being solid and reliable.
Can we please just get these things tested and fixed, the basics, once and for all and leave the workarounds for the complicated new cool stuff.
