  • duplicate proxy but not as instance

So if you do a normal duplicate of a vray proxy, the duplicate no longer renders correctly as it loses its "proxy_vraymesh" node. Is this to be expected, and you have to do an instance duplicate?

Also can you confirm that auto create isnt working correctly? Importing a proxy created with that option has the material names in the shader list, but as you can see in the image, they arent connected.

If you are using automatically create proxies option the generated VRayProxy will link all the shaders automatically. But if you import that proxy again the shaders won't be connected and you need to do that manually.

the duplicate no longer renders correctly as it loses its "proxy_vraymesh" node.
there is a Duplicate input graph option in the Duplicate Special menu that you can use.

thanks for info...pretty crazy that you have to manually link materials on import.

Yes, for the moment, the .vrmesh file can carry only geometry information. We'll see what we can do to improve that.
