  • Artifacts where the edges are concentrated

Is there a way to avoid the artifacts where the edges are concentrated like the attached figure without updating the mesh topology in V-Ray?

See artifacts in V-Ray Next and V-Ray 5

As far as I can see, there are really thin triangles in the scene, so floating point precision errors are quite possible in that case.
We might have to contact the embree devs about this. Could we share your scene with them?

      Hello, Mihail

Yes. I've attached a scene zip file to my first post.
This artifact is not visible in Maya Software and ARNOLD Render.

In my tests replacing the geometry with a V-Ray proxy fixes the issue for me. Is this workaround OK for you?

Yes. The Proxy will not see the problem.
But even with regular meshes the problem should be solved.

I hope it will be fixed in the future.
