  • decals alpha shadow

Hello, I'm trying to do a simple decal with a alpha map. I turned off cast shadow in the render stats of the plane. But every time I get a dark area of the plane I'm using for the decal. Its not the shadow nor the GI shadow. Even with object properties and turned off Visible to GI it works. It only works when I turn off visible to reflections in the render stats or object properties!? but why? Why is the plane/decal that is cut away by the alpha still visible in reflections on the plane underneath? (The ground plane has reflections turned on as well)

Could you attach the scene here or send it to support@chaosgroup.com so we can take a look?

Thank you for the report and the provided scene. I managed to track down the source of the issue, it seems an opacity mapped object with disabled shadows doesn't consider the cutout in its glossy reflections. I've logged it (internal bug-tracker id: VMAYA-9954) for developer analysis.
