I have noticed a significant change the the reflection of my objects with VRay 5. I have vray 5 installed in maya 2020, and I have vray 4.3 installed on maya 2019.
using simple lighting in two different tests (1 with a default dome light, the other with default physical sun), the reflection is considerably brighter in vray5 compared to the same scene using vray 4.3. i have also noticed that the Fresnel distribution of the reflection is different, seemingly offset more to the edge in vray5.
I have a lot of assets that would require reshading/look dev to account for this change. It is impacting several in-production jobs, so for now I have to revert back top using 4.3 to maintain consistency in our projects to completion. Without doing any reshading, the new look in vray5 is not good.
Because fixing all of our assets is a huge undertaking, I am wondering if this change was intended by the devs, or is this a bug?
Due to the nature of my work, I am not allowed to upload examples. Hopefully someone else has seen or can recreate the issue.
