Ive always had this issue for as long as I can remember, but only getting round to posting about it. I find that when I do a beauty render in the framebuffer, then want to make some tweaks to certain parts of a car interior, islolate select render mask is ideal. Also, setting "render mask clear" to off lets me re-render just that part in context with the last render I did. This works espeically well when rendering say a 10k car interior and I dont want the overhead of RT-ing the whole scene.
My issue, as you can see in the images, is that when I re-render using the mask, I get these awful edges and white pixels all around the edge of the geo Im trying to update. Id have expected the beauty render to look just like it did before, plus the updates. Any reason for these edge errors, or any idea how to fix them? Rendering these with progressive render. As you can see from the images re-rendering the metal silver strip is where the problem is. The first image is clean around the edges, the second has all these white pixel artifacts making the updated render useless.
Im on Vray Next 4.3.01 and Maya 2018. Currently rendering CUDA GPU but I think the issue happens on CPU also.
