So with production render, the GPU load hits max, but this is rarely the case with ipr...this fluctuates a lot more around the 75% mark? Is this to be expected?

Hi,
yeah, I also figured that out.
I can just guess. I think in my case its because I use Displacement and "View dependent" in the "Subdivision and Displacement Quality Attributes"
I think in this case it's increasing the Resolution of the Displacement when increasing the Render Resolution.
But it's just a guess
Cheers

ok, so the issue is to do with the lens effects layer in the VFB..if you have it on, with bloom..the gpu doesnt go much above 18% for me....when i turn it off it goes back to normal. Presumably this is because the glare is starting after every iteration (segmentation) of the ipr render. (see maya output window screenshot)..not sure if its a bug or to be expected.Attached Files

I fiddled a bit with this and it seems to work as intended. Activating the Lens Effects does pause the GPU usage but very soon it is utilized again. Note, while rendering on the GPU the Lens Effects are calculated on the CPU, hence, when the effects are calculated (from time to time depending on the Post effects rate parameter) the rendering is paused. Try lowering your Post effects rate (Render Settings>Settings>Post effects) and see if that makes any difference.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not. Do send the scene in the video via the contact form so we can take a look. Mention this thread in the message.

Hi again, yeah for some reason im seeing this issue again, but this time i have no lens effects going on...IPR gpu usage isnt hitting max, and fluctuates quite a lot, not really getting about 80%. Is this to be expected?
I would have attached a video but the 2meg limit is just crazy. Heres a googlelink instead.
