  • Vray Standalone: error while loading shared libraries: libvray.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Posting in the Maya thread as I haven't found a thread dedicated to V-Ray Standalone:

Trying to run Standalone on Linux 2 and after placing files in the /usr directory and running "sudo ./vray.bin" am met with the error: error while loading shared libraries: libvray.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I'm not seeing this file located in the directory. I do see libvray_dr1.so and others similar.

Am I missing the file? New to Linux command line as well as Standalone, pardon obvious ignorance.

Looking at the included installation_instructions_linux file refers to unzipping VRayStdInsall.zip, but I'm not seeing that file included in the downloaded .zip package. Not seeing 5 Standalone documentation online. Am I missing something obvious?

    Hi Bob,

Can you please send an email to support@chaosgroup.com and quote this thread.

    Thank you!

Thanks Alexandar, it looks like we are moving forward via email. Registering the Environmental Variables seems to have done the trick for launching locally. I am going to attempt from Deadline next.
