  • Image sequences with offset not rendering

I have a problem rendering image sequences when there is an offset applied.
They will simply not appear in the rendered frames.

    Any help would be appreciated

    Hello there,

Is it possible for you to attach scene file and video where you are able to reproduce this problem.
Also can you write down the specs you are using (such as V-Ray version + build, OS you are using, Autodesk Maya version, etc.)

    Kind Regards,
    Dimitrina

      Thanks for the reply.
Here is a link of the problem being reproduced.
I create a new scene from scratch, I then apply a small 15 frame sequence to a material, then apply it to a plane.
I then offset the sequence by -5 frames. (It doesn't matter how much I offset, I still get the same problem)
It renders fine locally, but when rendered to the cloud, it appears to be not read properly.

I have tried changing to different frame padding as this results in error quite a lot of the time.
I have updated License server and Vray to latest version. Maya is 2020, running on Windows 10
Getting rid of the offset, sequence renders fine.

I don't think you will need it because the problem is easily reproduced but just in case here is the scene file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/zsq51ucd23...test_2.ma?dl=0

      Regards

Sorry, I just noticed that I posted in the wrong category and I didn't mention that this problem was occuring on submission to Vray cloud.

          Hello again,

Thank you for your reply and the extra informationn. After going through this problem again it seems that indeed it is a bug.
Currently the option to apply any negative offset values is not working properly with Chaos Cloud, so an issue has been logged in our system for our developers to have further look into it.

          Kind Regards,
          Dimitrina

HI, this reminds me of my problem with negative frame numbers. They did not render as a sequence at chaos cloud. (like frame -40 to frame -5)
