  • Clipped geometry intersection

Hi, I have an object being clipped with a clipper mesh, then I have another object flying trough the clipped geo. I have some lines showing the intersection between the 2 objects appearing on the flying object. Is there a way to remove those line?
    Thanks.

    Hello,

Since I cannot reproduce this problem, can you please share a scene or images/video of how you manage to reproduce it?

    Kind Regards,

Hi I managed to remove the lines by reducing the secondary ray bias.In Maya it now works fine, however I have to recreate the setup in Max. My clippers which are just animated cubes are overlapping, this creates some artefacts in Max (not Maya) and I am not sure how to avoid it. I tried to have them adjacent without overlapping, but the artefacts are still present where the clippers are touching. Is there some trick to avoid it? Thanks

HI Yannick, Have you tried to set Secondary rays bias to 0.001 (in 3ds max it is in Global switches Advance parameters rollout)? If you tried it and it didn't help, could you send over a simplified version of your 3ds max scene to tanya.todorova@chaosgroup.com? Thanks!

Hi, unfortunately the server at work is lock and I cannot export a scene to send and I don't have Max at home. But image a piece of geo being clip by 2 squares next to each other. The artifacts happens where the 2 clippers (squares touches). I hope that makes sense.
          Thanks
