  • Render Elements - vrayRE_Z_depth / Z DEPTH has some issues !

I need an explanation how vRay render the z depth.

    Hi guys!
Im having some problems using the "Render Elements vrayRE_Z_depth"
I also have some issues to understand how the z depth using vRay works.

How is being calculated the z depth ?
Why is not camera view related ? There are some areas where you can see the wrong calculation of the z depth.
i.e. the outside mirror (mirror holder vs. the mirror itself) or the hood of the car vs. the interior of the car.
    WELL !!!!
In the rim you can see the complete issue. That area is the key for any analysis.

Or for example the cube z depth.
On the top and the side wall of the cube. Looks like there is a circle where the middle is bright and spread some kind of light and takes the black color.

I know the z depth in other way so could you please so kind to explain me how the z depth works using vRay ?
I will really appreciate any help.

    Thank you in advance !

    Cheers !

Is it possible for you to send us a scene, for our developers to have further look into the problems you have mentioned?
You can upload the scene here or send it to dimitrina.milanova@chaosgroup.com

    Kind Regards,
