  • Resumable render files not being saved when rendering to VFB

Just as the title says. I haven't used resumable rendering much, and not for a long time, but supposedly this should work, even when using DR.

However, if I render into the VFB and kill the render, nothing is being written into the TMP folder. I've tested with both progressive and bucket rendering and I'm not getting either expected file type output.

If I batch render the same scene then kill the render, I get a .vrimg file as expected (have not tested batch with progressive but I would presume it would also work).

Am I overlooking something, or has the way this feature works changed recently?

Well, never mind. After numerous attempts to get this working, after making this post suddenly it did start to work. I really have no idea why it wasn't before.

Actually, this problem has now suddenly returned. Previously the .vrimg file was saving out every time, now with resumable rendering checked it is not and every new render starts over. Is this a known issue?

Gah, finally noticed a one line warning flash up in the feedback line that said "resumable rendering temporarily disabled". Had to go and dig it up in the output window, to find it's simply that I had test resolution enabled. That's it. Is this mentioned in the docs about resumable rendering? If it isn't, it should be.

I don't think it is mentioned, hence the warning. I'll mention the case to our documentation team.

Thanks. I took numerous troubleshooting steps to see if I could get back to a place where it was working so I'm very surprised I apparently didn't think to turn off test resolution (in fact I'd have bet that I did!). But, yes since I only caught the warning error by chance as it flashed past it would be a good idea to mention this in the docs
