  • Render layer override for auto scale regions not working

    Hi,

Im trying to render a headlight in floor reflection, so its not very bright, and its on black. I set an override to turn off auto scale render regions because as buckets get too small, they dont sample enough around them and return black. This override doesnt seem to work. Ive turned off auto scale, yet it still auto scales, and my render ends up with tiny black buckets.

    Hello,

Can you please send a scene and a video, with which you are reproducing this problem?

    Kind Regards,
    Dimitrina

Dynamic bucket splitting is always active; V-Ray controls when to utilize the function internally (depending on what's rendering - deep images, resumable rendering, rendering to disk, etc.). The Autoscale regions option is simply an older (not as optimized) implementation of DBS. To work around your specific case, try increasing the min. AA subdivisions instead.

ok, thanks for the response. So is this tick box kind of redundant? It didnt seem to make any difference, so I assume its just not doing anything anymore?

Yes, it seems it was left behind and currently does nothing. We can just hide it from the interface.
