  • Purple Banding/Fringing with OCIO with VRay 5.1.2

I reported this a few times before. Now with the latest official release of 5.1 on Maya 2022 i still get the same fringing/banding in my renderings, Those are even more visible with denoiser.
I tried on a new scene but I get the same banding.

    See attachements.

I have the exact same issue. Occurs with V-Ray 5.10.20 on both Maya 2020 and 2022. It seems to only happen when the OCIO display correction is enabled in the VFB. Also only the red channel is affected. If you copy the render to the Maya render view, or use the V-Ray viewport render, or just view the rendered output file in Nuke or whatever, everything looks fine.

V-Ray 5.00.22 doesn't exhibit this problem, as far as I can tell.

ah, I didn't go further with 5.1 than rendering in the VFB. I can confirm that on 2020 this is the same problem and only with OCIO display correction enabled.

I checked my renderings in Nuke. They seem to be ok there. Only VFB gets it wrong.

We've found the problem and we'll be releasing a fix for it soon.
