  • Importing .vrscene from MAX into Maya - major issues

Has anyone (or especially any Chaos employee) had any luck whatsoever moving objects from MAX into Maya as .vrscene files? I have been trying periodically to save time rebuilding objects and textures from scratch but every time I attempt, in Maya the object(s) look like hot garbage, with black triangles and missing geometry seemingly randomly placed throughout the meshes.

I have no issue exporting .vrscene files directly from either Maya or MAX to Chaos Cloud to do cloud renders (they look perfect; no issues at all), but they are supposed to be interoperable between the applications and that was the primary reason I purchased a license for MAX (bringing turbosquid models built for MAX into Maya).

Are there settings that I am most likely mixing up? Everything is essentially default as far as I can tell - perhaps there are some processes I should be performing on the models before exporting them from MAX?

Have other people experienced this? Things are so messed up that I basically gave up trying a while back but it really seems like something that should work, especially since it is advertised to be able to do precisely what I am trying to do and failing at.

Thanks for whatever help you can provide!!

Can you please send us your Specs such as OS, Maya and 3dsMax V-Ray versions (and build numbers) ?

    Kind Regards,
