  • V-Ray 5 + Maya 2019 V-Ray Dome Light with Tex Error

In V-Ray 5.10.21 for Maya + Maya 2019.2, when I set HDRI to V-Ray Dome light, I get the following error. (same v5.20.22 Nightlies)

No problem with Maya 2022, 2020.

    From the script editor
place env VRayPlaceEnvTex2// error: texturedShader->addOutputFragment("vrayLightGain", "inColor"): (kNotFound): Unexpected internal error //

    From the output Window
Error: C:\CI\cgrepo\vray4maya\VRayNodes\environment_viewp ort_common.cpp:610: texturedShader->addOutputFragment("vrayLightGain", "inColor"): : (kNotFound): Unexpected internal error

Does not seem to happen on my end (tested in Maya 2019 with v5.10.22, revision 30935 from Aug 12 2021). Maybe it is something related to your Maya; try reverting to its system defaults.

Try enabling the Textured View switch. (6 keys)

Captured video (Deleted Maya's Preference folder and started it)

Thank you, I managed to reproduce it. However, it does not seem to affect the rendering. Anyway, it is already resolved in the internal nightlies for Maya 2019; the fix will eventually be pushed to the stable nightlies.

          Thank you for information.
I'm glad it was fixed in Nightlies.

Can you share what might be causing this error?

              Hi Aleksandar,

              Resurrecting this thread.

              OSX bigSur 11.7
              Maya 2020.4
              VRAY 5.10.22
I'm trying to figure out what exactly is causing this error. I exported a partial scene and when I reference it into a new scene I get this error when toggling renderlayers.

The error seems to be happening with lights, the error print statement is consistent with the exact number of lights in the layer.

It's possible, however, as I said - the error is nothing to worry about and it is already fixed in later V-Ray builds.
