  • Denoiser in VFB turns itself back on with IPR changes.

Every time i change the camera angle and the IPR render restarts, the denoiser in the VFB, which i have turned off..turns itself back on...is this meant to happen? I know i can remove the denoiser from the render elements, but it seems a bit odd.

    This is using

    Maya 2022

    V-Ray 5 for Maya, update 1.2
    (v5.10.22, revision 30924 from Aug 5 2021)

Do you mean turning it off in the frame buffer?

If yes, this is the intended behavior

As long as you have this post effects rate setting, denoiser is going to update and turn itself back on

If you set it to 0, it will only update after you stop the IPR

Or you can disable the denoiser render element like this,

I think this should be changed. I can't see how turning the layer off in the VFB and then it automatically turn back on could ever be desirable.
It's just annoying. And no, I don't want to have to stop my IPR, open the render dialog, hunt for that setting, turn if off, close the render dialog, and then restart ipr.

I can see how this might seem like a minor inconvenience, but when you're working in IPR for 6 hours a day 5 days a week, a small annoyance like this becomes infuriating soon enough.
Please consider changing this behavior so that when a layer is switched off, it stays off unless the user re-enables it.

        Thanks.

edit: Perhaps you can see how it can be annoying when you're trying to dial in settings like this: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1AvX...ew?usp=sharing
