  • Light Selection Crash

I get an instant crash when I go from one light to another.

Preview rendering in IPR mode, GPU, one light selected, selecting another light - Crash

This happens on 3 different computers, even on a MacBookPro.
    GPU and CPU

    Maya 2022
    Vray Nightly v5.10.22
    Intel i7
    2X GTX 1060

    Hello there,

Can you please send a scene, with which you are able to reproduce this crash?
Also also a video of how you are reproducing it, it will be really useful.

    Kind Regards,
    Dimitrina

it is somehow related to toggle target
the crash happend 100% on all mashines when you deselect a light while in toggle target mode
it also happens when you are in move/rotate tool but not every time

I just found out, it is realted to the target mode of Vray Rectangular Lights
So IPR doesnt have to be running
Just create a empty Maya Scene, take a Rect Light, press T for target mode, move it, deselect the light - Crash

ya, this has been a problem for a while in Maya 2022 and Vray 5...Ive not been able to upgrade either to look for a fix, so in the meantime Ive had to disable "T" from being a hotkey for the "show manipulator". Its not ideal but it means Maya doesnt crash when my sausage fingers hit T by accident. It does also make lighting a little slower not having the tool work.

              Hello again,

Fortunatelly, we know about this problem, which Autodesk confirmed to be fixed in Maya 2022.1.
This is the Issue ID tracker number (MAYA-111663).
Can you please update Maya from 2022 to 2022.1 and try to reproduce the crash again?
If it is still reproducable please do no hesitate to contact us again and we will have further look into it.

              Kind Regards,
              Dimitrina Milanova
