  • Vray proxy and problem with motion blur

Hi Guys i am working on a project that i have to bring hair as a proxy from houdini. When i render without motion blur everything seems ok. Like the render bellow.

When i turn motion blur this happens, the geometry looks like they are not aligned. Do you guys have any idea why this happens?

I am not sure I understand the issue - that's what the motion blur does. Or maybe the issue is that there is in fact motion blur on the kitten in the foreground? Otherwise, do send the scene via the contact form so we can take a look.

      Hi Hermit,

I cant share those scene files they are under NDA. If you see the image on the top you will see a image withou motion blur, in that image we can see that his ear is filled with fur there in no hole in the fur showing the body.

But in the second image you can see the holes in the ear. It looiks like the alembic of the hair are not aligned with the alembic of the body we are using both of them as a proxy, and this just happen when i turn motion blur on.

Do you know if i am doing something wrong for this to happen?

If you want i think i can send you both alembic, this works for you guys?

Yes, you may send it. A few more questions. Where have you exported the hair from? And has the alembic been exported with a velocity channel? Usually, issues like these occur when V-Ray expects a velocity channel, which is not contained in the alembic. If not, you should try re-exporting the hair with it.
