Hi! I almost never use physical camera's motion blur. I always output a velocity render pass and do it in post. But for this project, I have strong shadows of my moving character- and it looks weird to have the character be motion blurred but the background/shadows not to be blurred.
So, I think to me, perhaps this is a chance to use real motion blur in VRay instead of velocity and VectorBlur in Nuke. So I go to Render Settings and click Overrides, and Camera and turn on Motion Blur. But when I render- no motion blur! (rendering out both multichannel EXR and deep EXRs).
So then I go to camera attributes and add VRay Physical Camera. And I click on Motion Blur there.
Yet, still no motion blur is output.
I have tried this with my character scene as well as a simple polygon ball moving quickly across the screen. Still no motion blur.
This is Maya 2022 and the latest stable build of VRay. Please help! Have I simply missed something simple and easy here? Or is it temporarily not outputting motion blur?
And for the physical camera attributes I have tried Still Camera with slow and fast shutter speeds as well as my preferred Film Camera in the drop-down menu.
Thank you.
