  • Lights In Between Camera and Asset Causing Artifacts

    Hey guys,

I'm essentially seeing the same issue visually as was posted in this post:

    https://forums.chaos.com/forum/v-ray...uare-artifacts

Basically whenever you have a rect light in between your asset and the camera, you get an artifact that is the exact shape of your light.

Any idea why this would be? All my lights are set to invisible and occlude other lights is unchecked.

    Thanks,
    Patrick

I doubt it's the same issue. Could you attach a simple scene here along with some screencaps? Which V-Ray version build do you have installed?

I'm using v5.20.02 for Maya. Unfortunately I can't provide a scene given my work situation I'm unable to upload things to the internet. I tested on my home computer with the PLE v5.10.22 and the issue did not occur, so it is strange indeed.

I was told by a co-worker this fixed the issue: "It seems like going into the camera and disabling "auto render clip plane" and raising the near clip plane value so the lights get clipped out does actually fix the artifacts" for anyone seeing this post and has a similar issue.
