  • VRay 6 displacement problem with Repeat UV

When you change the Repeat UV of a file in the vrayDisplacement and you change the Displacement type from Normal Displacement to 2D Displacement it only takes a part of the file instead of scaling the entire image.
See attached example; The plane is 10 meters, the UV mapping is 1 meter so the place2dtexture has the repeat set on 0,1 by 0,1. When you set the Displacement type on Normal it is ok, but when you change it to 2D it only takes 1/10 of tyhe image.

    Hello,

Is it possible to send us the scene with the UV texture that you are able to reproduce this problem?

    Kind Regards,

        Hi there,
We recreated the issue on our side with the scene you provided. From what I see this is not a problem of the Repeat UV but rather it occurs because your UV's span outside the U1 V1 tile. When using an approach like this and 2D Displacement, ticking the Multi Tile checkbox in the Displacement Control is appropriate and should solve the discrepancy you're seeing. If that doesn't suit your needs, a workaround would be spanning your UVs within the U1V1 tile for non-udim texture approaches. Let me know if there's anything more we can help you with
