I need to set up a few AOVs to give our compers some options for adding some dirt and color variations, and was planning to plug in a couple of standard 3D procedurals e.g. 3D noise, stucco to some Extra Tex elements.
I know this should be possible as I have done this in the past, and even have a scene from a previous project that is set up this way that I double checked to make sure of this.
However, when I click the button next to the texture input field and open up the Create Render Node window, the rollout menu for Maya 3D procedurals is completely missing, as if this is no longer an option. The 2D rollout is there, as well as both 2D and 3D beneath the Vray tab, but not Maya's 3D textures. I'm using Maya 2020.4 and Vray 5.10.22 on Windows 10. Is this expected behavior or otherwise what's causing this to happen? Has support for this very useful feature been removed?
I'm going to attempt to create 3D nodes and hardwire them using the connection editor, but that's hardly convenient for the quick lookdev work I was expecting to be able to do to get this task done.
