But what are your V-Ray tab setings?
Here's the vray tab settings
What should I set the brute force GI depth to? Default is 3.
I just find it weird that flickering is still an issue. I thought Hash Maps made it a thing of the past.

Can you check what does it read in Render Settings > Overrides > Lighting > Light evaluation?
See if using the Light Tree mode helps in any way? If it does, it would help to get a scene whenever possible to debug and fix this.

I have a similar flicker now with Vray6 (Maya). I tried adaptative lights and Light tree. I'm doing right now a test with BF+BF to see if that flicker disappears, but it's quite curious.

without looking at the scene, my bet would be that the geometry of the walls is not thick. If unchecking reflective caustics didn't solve it, see if you can isolate it down to which light is causing the flickering (if there is a light), if the gi is emitted from geometry instead of a light that can also be a reason.Dmitry Vinnik

Hi Dmitry,
In my case, it is/was a ocean scene. After stripping down and testing a lot, it came out that it was also a mesh that generated this flickering/pumping, even with BF+BF. Putting a VrayObjectProperty on this mesh and unchecking GI, made things work again. It was not a double mesh issue or similar.
So, my conclusion is at least, if you get such problems, always look at the meshes

The project has been submitted yesterday (65819). I would be happy to know why this flicker occurred.
cheers
