  • Rendering GPU with Standalone gets stuck on Building Light cache

Hi, just try with two different files and get the same issue. Tryint to render via GPU an animation. Two RTX 3090 Nvlink and one NVIDIA RTX A4500.

If i export to vrscene and then render via standalone it gets stuck in a certain frame while building Light Cache.
One scene was in frame 25 and the other one in frame 5. Just the two scenes i tried to render, so at the moment impossible to render any animation via standalone and GPU here.

Screenshot of issue, i did quit the first one that render whole night. Was stuck more than 6 hours on the same percentage of Light Cache, when we come back to office. Same as the other scene and the other night.

CMD output attached as txt, screenshots about hte issue and the performance of the graphic cards, no memory problem.

Hi, anyone there? No one has any tip or fix?
More than 5 days since we submitted this post. We are trying to fix it on our own, but its not possible.

Has something to do with Building Cache and GPU. If we change to Brute Force as secondary GI, there is no problem, but really noisy and slow.
With CPU no problem at all. GPU Light Cache and progrssive mode also gets stuck.
Same scene just camera movement render good some frames and others get stucked, so its impossible to render any animation.
So for sure is something with Light Cache and GPU, but in some frames it does works and in others no.

We have reproduce it with a lot of scenes of our animation, but misteriously some of them render ok with GPU and Light Cache.

We dont get any log or error thrown so itsw impossible to isolate the problem. We just dont know what is happening and why we cant render with GPU.

Any light or help would be really apreciated.

Sorry about the late reply, I just saw your post today.

Is there a chance I get a look at your scene, if I reproduce on my side I will make sure it gets solved
Please make sure you are on the latest verified driver 512.59

This might be related to running out of GPU memory on some frames, using Cuda mode and progressive mode should help reduce memory usage
