  • triplanar viewport brightness

Is it just me ? When using a triplanar node, the textures are very bright in the viewport. I couldn't find any topic about that on the forum and/or the net.
It's pretty annoying even if I used it like that for now.

Hm, yes. Seems like a color space thing. I'll investigate.

EDIT: Yes. Since the Triplanar texture gets baked prior to rendering, it is rendered in without a color profile (raw), hence the differences. There's a similar issue with lights (internal bug-tracker id: VMAYA-9384). I'll log this one as well.

yes, it looks like a color space thing. I just wonder why never anybody reported it (well, I did too).

only to be sure we are speaking about the same issue:
left, UV mapping - right, triplanar mapping

Yes, we are speaking of the same thing. The results should be identical if you set the Color Space Transform of the source bitmap to Raw.

that doesn't seem to change anything on my end.

first cube: no triplanar, bitmap colorspace srgb -> wood correct
second cube: triplanar, bitmap colorspace srgb -> wood bright
third cube: triplanar, bitmap colorspace raw -> wood bright

Maybe it's something else. Could you attach the scene here so we can take a look? Also, which V-Ray build do you have installed?
