  • File node tags and "Abort rendering on missing asset"

Rendering stops when using "Abort rendering on missing asset" in scenes using <UDIM> <UVTile> or "$U $V" tags in File nodes.

A checking algorithm for "Abort rendering on missing asset" should either expand or ignore tags on File nodes.

    Confirmed with V-Ray 5 or V-Ray 6

Thanks for the report. The issue is reproducible. I've logged it (internal bug-tracker id: VMAYA-11783) for developer investigation.

        Hello,

We have been investigating your issue, but we are unable to reproduce it. As far as we can tell, V-Ray is working as intended - it aborts only if a required UDIM tile is missing. That is, we only check the existence of concrete files used during rendering, so if a tile is missing, but not needed, that will not produce an error.

Can you please provide us with some more details? Can you tell if this happens only with a specific 3D model or a set of textures? A scene file that reproduces the issue and the full log from V-Ray would be most helpful.

Sorry for the missing information, please try rendering with V-Ray GPU.
