  • Density mapped env fog incredibly slow to render

Title says it all. I'm using a 3D texture to drive density on env fog that's creating some atmospheric smoke/haze in some spotlights. The renders are incredibly slow. Is this just intrinsic to this type of scenario? Is there anything I can do to speed it up without sacrificing quality? All the raymarching settings have been left at default.

if you can get away with it, increase the step size until your render quality starts to suffer, if you can raise it, it gives massive speedups.

Instant improvement. Thanks! I made the mistake of assuming a default setting was at a sensible value. Assuming scene units, I now realize that 1 is anything but.
