  • Maya Displacement Shader IPR not updated

    Hello!
    I'm working on expressing displacement using Maya-native nodes (DisplacmentShader node plugged into the Shading Group.)
    But I'm hitting a limitation in the V-Ray IPR not updating when shading parameters change.

    Vray object properties will update displacement interactively, but DisplacementShader will not.

    I'm using V-Ray 6 for Maya hotfix 1 in Maya 2022.

    Which parameters are you referring to? And is there a reason to use Maya's native displacement shader over V-Ray's?

      For example, If you modify a color correct node to adjust the pixel value levels of a texture driving displacement in the shader. It does not update in IPR. But the same displacement nodes applied via Maya Sets does properly evaluate the updated shading graph.

      I'm building a shading pipeline and am supporting both methods. I just happened to notice that IPR does not refresh when testing.

        I see. The issue seems to be fixed in the internal nightlies. It should eventually be pushed into the stables.
