  • Maya Vray Dirt (AOC) not working in GPU

    Is this a known bug?

I cannot make the extraTex vray dirt produce ambient occlusion when rendering in GPU. Exact same render element produces the effect perfectly in CPU. See below.

    Maya 2024, V-Ray 6 for Maya, update 1 (v6.10.00 from May 15 2023), Windows 11

    Am I missing something?

Turn off the "As Inclusive Set" checkbox under the "Affected By" parameter. Not sure why this is happening though, I have to ask around.

Can this get fixed in the next update please. I just spent like 2 hours trying to figure out why this wasn't working on GPU before finding this thread. Simple bug but pretty confusing as a user.

How do you control the noise on AO using the GPU, it seems the subdivs are not doing anything at all. in CPU it works as it should.

                Hi hsz

We are looking into your request now, could you please share a scene where you get a noisy AO pass?
Exposing the Subdivs is not going to work for V-Ray GPU for technical reasons, but we could look at improving the noisy results in your case

                Best,

Hi Muhammed_Hamed I Just downloaded the latest version of Vray nightlies and I tested on a very simple scene and it seems that now this working better.... I might have to do more testing.
